Greatorex’s introduction to meat netting began in the mid 1980’s when it commenced making food grade elastic for a local manufacturer, subsequently it was left with stocks of elastic and as a result purchased some knitting machines the business has grown over the years, Greatorex developed over the last 5-6 years technology that has increased productivity substantially.

All products manufactured for the food industry by Greatorex Textile Industries are made from food grade materials and conform to the relevant regulatory requirements as follows:

Micronet
Product InformationEnquireSmall square netting made by increasing the number of long chains and reducing the spacing between spirals of rubber. This type of netting offers extra compression to meat products and is recommended for use on boneless hams and other cooked products. The small square pattern spreads the compression of the netting more evenly over the surface of the meat eliminating air pockets and makes the net easier to peel.

Meatwrap Standard is strong and easy to handle during filling and processing. It will fill to a uniform diameter withstanding high filling pressures and clipping. It allows for excellent smoke penetration and offers reduced drip loss and cookout loss compared to conventional netting.

Product InformationEnquireSuperior Ham Net – is designed to be used as an alternative to extruded plastic netting for processing full bone in leg hams and offers a number of advantages such as improved yield, excellent smoke penetration and a reduction in muscle separation from the shank during cooking. It also helps to reduce moisture loss during cooling and refrigeration prior to packaging the ham.

Stockinette
Product InformationEnquireStockinette is a knitted tubular fabric made from cotton, polyester cotton, or rayon yarn.
In the meat industry it is commonly used as carcass bags for export lamb, pork and beef. Many meat processors also use Stockinette bags to cook full bone-in leg hams and additionally, they can be used to keep hams fresh while kept in the fridge at home.
Stockinette also has many other uses across a number of different industries such as polishing cloth, absorbent cleaning cloths, and filtration fabric.

- Tags are made from water proof, writable paper
Stockinette is now available in 2kg rolls to be used as disposable cleaning cloths. Made from Viscose Rayon, they are more absobent than their cotton-blend counter-parts.

The net loader is a low profile unit designed to take up minimal space while being easy for the operator to load and unload the netting tube.
